Market, food and information
What’s at Michi-no-Eki Miyazu
Michi-no-Eki Miyazu puts a market, a restaurant, a tourist information centre and bike rental in one stop. Kyoto Prefecture’s tourism site says you get views of Miyazu Bay and the Amanohashidate sandbar2 from the station.
Market 9:00–17:001
- Magokoro-ichi market: vegetables and rice brought in by farmers, plus Miyazu and Tango seafood products and souvenirs.
- Minato Shokudo Shiosai: the restaurant, cooking with fish landed nearby and vegetables from the market.
- HAMAKAZE Cafe: a café among the shops in the building.
- Tourist information centre: covers Miyazu City and the wider Kyoto by the Sea (Umi no Kyoto) area.
- Bike rental: standard bikes and electric bikes.
The station calls itself the closest roadside station to Amanohashidate1. Its information centre pitches itself as the starting point3 for trips around Miyazu City and the rest of Kyoto by the Sea.
